Guest Fifty hertz Posted October 15, 2021 Report Posted October 15, 2021 Hi all, Just wanted to get your thoughts on smoke detectors in Open plan kitchens/lounges that form part of the escape route in an L1 multi-occupancy building. As you have to get through the kitchen to escape to me this needs to be a smoke detector or multi to try limit false alarms. 2 Scenarios both for an L1 system; Open plan kitchen/lounge on an escape route Open plan kitchen/lounge not on an escape route what detector would you recommend for both scenarios Thanks Quote
Mike North Posted October 22, 2021 Report Posted October 22, 2021 Given the information provided, I would not want to specify a system other than say an L2 with high-risk areas should suffice in most cases. But as a general rule, smoke detectors should not be used in a kitchen. Quote
