Prometheus Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 It is generally eccepted a 30 minute timber door should be 44mm and 60 minute timber should be 54mm in thickness, what about a metal door leaf? I have searched the forum as I'm sure this has been asked before but could not find the answer. Thanks Quote
Neil ashdown Posted September 27, 2021 Report Posted September 27, 2021 Metal fire doors do not have the same inherent properties of insultation and char behaviour as timber fire doors, therefore thickness alone is not necessarily a guide to fire performance. Contact the DHF https://www.dhfonline.org.uk/ for a copy of the guidance documents 'Metal Fire Door-set Verification' and ' Metal fire doors Code of Practice' Quote
Prometheus Posted October 1, 2021 Author Report Posted October 1, 2021 Thanks, already have those documents, just wanted short straight answer ? Quote
