Guest Sutton Fire Posted April 29, 2021 Report Posted April 29, 2021 Hi, Just working with an company who has offices over 3 floors but very limited numbers of staff usually working in the offices at present due to COVID restrictions. Would you consider it to be necessary to have Fire Marshals in place at all times when the offices are in operation? The offices are open plan with multiple exits and the staff have received training informing them of the evacuation arrangements and assembly point etc. The are different people in on different days. It doesnt really seem risk proportionate to require that they must have Fire Marshals in place at all times. However, the alternative of having a sign in/out board may also not be reliable. I'd interested to hear what others have recommended/have in place. Thanks Quote
Tom Sutton Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 There are a number of methods used, you have mentions two. The head of each department or floor should know who is present and ensure that those under his control, properly evacuates, then reports it to the person who will be talking to the fire service. It is important to know who is in the building and then ensure they are all present at the roll call. Quote
