Hi,

If there is a scenario where a residential and commercial tenants fire route leads to the back of the building into a courtyard of approx. 10m long. However the door from that courtyard requires a key to get to the final place of safety, i.e. as far away from the building as possible.

What would be a suitable measure to ensure this route away from the property is accessible for both tenants.?

Considering secure push bar, thinking a key box would not be sufficient?

Thank you.

Any current type of simple fastening not requiring a key would suit, BS EN 1125 panic fastenings would only be needed if over 60 persons would be using the route or would be unfamiliar with it - BS EN 179 exit devices may suffice.
