Guest PolFol Posted March 28, 2021 Report Posted March 28, 2021 Based on the last fire risk assessment, I am looking to get the front door on my flat replaced. I would like to ask if it is a requirement that the new fire door that I install is 'signed off'. Or if it is ok to get an installer who can't provide an installation certificate to install it, but will use a certified door and door furniture. I can't find out what the actual official requirements are. Based on what the FRA says, it seems as though as long as the fire door is FD30, it has a self closing device, cold smoke strip and self closer, it meets requirements. Can you please confirm? Quote
Mike North Posted March 29, 2021 Report Posted March 29, 2021 There is no requirement for third party accreditation for the door or installation (you can get Joe Bloggs to fit it), however, it may be prudent to do, so that you can prove that it was compliant at the time it installation. Quote
