Correct Varnish to use on Fire Doors

Hi Folks,

I've recently had a 30 minute fire door installed in my flat. Does this need a special intumescent varnish on top of it, or will a normal varnish do as the door is already fire rated? My concern is that putting the wrong varnish on my actually make the door more flammable and counteract it being a fire door.

Standard vanish is acceptable but you are limited to the number of coats you can use.
