Guest Steven Posted December 15, 2020 Report Posted December 15, 2020 Hi guys, i just need some clarification. I have a fire door on a commercial building and it opens outwards but the issue is it opens outwards onto a narrow passage down the side of the building and if an emergency was to occur then when open it blocks the passenger midway and the route accommodates another fire door. It would mean that this door would block the escape route from the rear. Would this mean the door should open inwards? Quote
Tom Sutton Posted December 18, 2020 Report Posted December 18, 2020 Depends on the numbers likely to use it, if its less than 60 then it could rehung to open inwards, if more then it would have to be set back the width of the door and hung to open outwards. Quote
