Does an  electric cupboard on a wall on the ground floor of a tanning parlour with seven rooms need to be enclosed in 30 mntes FR material if there is a smoke detector fitted nearby. If it is enclosed fire could develop and the smoke alarm might not go off.

If your electric cupboard is involved in fire you are likely to lose your lights pretty quickly, so it is unlikely you are not going to be unaware very long, then you are going to be glad it is enclosed to a 30 minute standard.
