Guest Fireangel Posted February 16, 2020 Report Posted February 16, 2020 Hi, I have a couple of hardwired smoke detectors that need replacing in the house. It is a Firesafe model FdS238 ionization type smoke alarm currently but the manufacturers no longer make those, is there a way to find out the best replacement for these to ensure they need no additional wiring or base replacement (the bedroom one is in a very awkward place) any suggestions would be appreciated. Tom Sutton Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 I think is is very unlikely you will be able to use the original base, even on Firesafe products but the wiring should be fine which you should be able to connect any base. Quote
Tom Sutton Posted February 20, 2020 Report Posted February 20, 2020 Have tried to contact the manufacturer check out https://www.firesafe.co.uk. Quote
