aSystemOverload Posted January 26, 2020 Report Posted January 26, 2020 I'm helping my elderly mother move into a ground floor flat. Her door opens into a communal area. The door is currently a double pane Safety clear glass (with wires). I've asked the housing association to replace with a solid, wooden door, with peep hole and letter box. They've said new rules don't allow a peep hole or letter box. Is this right? Quote
AnthonyB Posted January 27, 2020 Report Posted January 27, 2020 No. There are suitable products available for new doorsets: https://www.safelincs.co.uk/astroflame-fire-rated-door-viewer/ https://www.safelincs.co.uk/fire-rated-letter-plate-system-from-doorset-global-solutions/ Often they would be specified with the new door so they can be incorporated in the manufacture and still meet test criteria Quote
