Hi, I don't know if installing a 2 litre AFFF foam extinguishers plus fire blanket and smoke alarms or I need to go for a 6 litre model? The apartment has 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms and 1 small kitchen and a sizable living room. What should I choose? Thanks very much

Hi

A 2ltr foam is fine, however, with regards to the type of smoke alarms or fire alarms this depends from whether you are letting, whether this has been a renovation and so on.

I would consider maybe a water mist extinguisher (maybe a 3ltr) instead of extinguisher+fire blanket. It is more versatile and a lot cleaner to clean up after.

Water mist is preferred as foam cannot be used on two of the key causes of domestic fire - Cooking oils & electrical equipment. The smallest 1.4l water mist wold be sufficient
