Hi being relatively new to door inspections I have come across numerous doors that have a Cold Smoke and Fire Seal fitted but the gap is less than 3 mm especially on the hinge side.

Is this still acceptable as the brushes do seem a little squashed?

Thanks

Generally, no less than 2mm is recommended and is usually stated on certification and assessments etc. The reason for this is that any less than 2mm can affect the operation of the door and can affect the intumescent performing correctly in the event of a fire.

I hope this helps
