thayes698 Posted August 9, 2019 Report Posted August 9, 2019 Not sure what section to post this but i work in a care home and was wondering the if and what the regulations are on have gas shut off i.e. in kitchen/ bolier rooms if the fire alarm is activated. Anyhelp or a point in right direction would be apprectiated. Regards Tom Quote
AnthonyB Posted August 16, 2019 Report Posted August 16, 2019 It should have a manual valve in all cases and if provided with a fixed suppression system and automatic valve as well that operates if the system is activated. Retrospective provision of automatic release on general alarm isn't required unless insurers or risk assessments indicate. Some buildings will have linked the main gas intake valve to the alarm instead so all gas equipment shuts down not just the kitchens Quote
