Guest George
Hello, We live in a block of 15 flats and have a communal main front door. Currently there is a door release button next to this communal door, so we can exit the building without using a key to get out. Good for getting out in an emergency situation and for every day use too.. My question is .. would a thumbturn lock on the door also be required or is the door release button sufficient? Thanks very much, George
Tom Sutton
I am assuming this door is locked using a magnetic lock therefore it is subject to BS 7273-4 and requires a manual release which looks like a manual call point box but coloured green. Check out the above BS for more information.
