Andy8519 Posted June 11, 2019 Report Posted June 11, 2019 Hi Guys, First post here so hello everybody ? just a quick question, we've been asked to block up a doorway in a care home (advised by fire safety officer) Now we were going to use blocks and build a double skinned wall but do we really need to go to that length or can we just frame it out and use 15mm fireboard either side and skim? Thankyou for any input, Andy ? Quote
AnthonyB Posted June 11, 2019 Report Posted June 11, 2019 It's possible depending on the level of fire resistance required. This product selector will help you determine the required type & thickness of board and type of supporting system for the FR you require: https://www.british-gypsum.com/white-book-system-selector Quote
Andy8519 Posted June 12, 2019 Author Report Posted June 12, 2019 Thankyoou, I shall take a look, I was just gping to use 3x2 then fireboard it but if there is a better way of framing it then I will do that ? Quote
Tom Sutton Posted June 12, 2019 Report Posted June 12, 2019 Andy as AB said it depends on the level of fire resistance required, what is required in your case? Quote
