Guest RLW14 Posted June 4, 2019 Report Posted June 4, 2019 Hi there, I am trying to have a a new fire proof composite front door (external door to my flat which leads into a stair well) installed in my property. However, no one will come and do this for me because they say that the production of fire proof composite doors has been suspended because the government has not clarified it's regulation changes on fire doors in the wake of Grenfell. I understand why these changes are needed, but I am currently living in a property which has a basic timber front door in a block of flats and it is not fire safe. I need some advice about how I should proceed to make my property safe. Many thanks, Rebecca Quote
Neil Ashdown MAFDI Posted June 6, 2019 Report Posted June 6, 2019 The suspension on the production of composite construction fire resisting doors has been lifted. I suggest you contact the Association of Composite Door Manufacturers at http://acdm.co.uk/ for advice. There are also composite construction fire resisting doors on the market that are covered by the Certifire certification scheme and you can find member companies at https://www.warringtonfire.com/certified-companies/certifire Quote
