Guest Mark Pridding Posted May 23, 2019 Report Posted May 23, 2019 Good afternoon. I am a time served joiner that is asked to fit fire doors occasionally. I am not certified, how can i get this training and how much would it cost ? Also i've been asked to cut out a letter plate in a fire door for a front door of a flat. The letter plate if fire rated, can this be done or should it be factory fitted ? Regards Mark Quote
Tom Sutton Posted May 25, 2019 Report Posted May 25, 2019 To work on a fire door you need to know what is possible and what is not, consequently if you should have the training, also you will have documentation that proves you are qualified. It is unlikely letter plates will be fitted in the factory and it is more likely to be fitted by a qualified joiner.
