Guest Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Hi, We are currently looking into fire alarm testing practices. Would you be able to tell me how often a fire alarm system needs to be tested to conform with current regulations? I have been searching the web and found this information hard to come by. Also do you sell fire alarm log books? Thank you Quote
Garry Webster Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 The fire alarm panel should be inspected visually on a daily basis for normal operation of the system and any defects should be recorded in a logbook and reported to a responsible person. A full system test should be carried out weekly including an examination of batteries and connections including electrolyte level, the test and any defects should be recorded in a logbook and reported to a responsible person. We do not sell fire alarm log books but we do have a free fire safety log book which contains a fire alarm testing section which can be downloaded below. I hope this helps you.
