Guest Tom Posted October 8, 2018 Report Posted October 8, 2018 what are the legal requirements for a refuge point. specifically do they need communication systems Quote
AnthonyB Posted October 8, 2018 Report Posted October 8, 2018 New ones created as part of a new build or alteration usually have them provided to meet the Building Regulation process. In an existing building the Fire Risk Assessment and associated Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans would determine if retrofitting is required - it's not an automatic retrospective requirement and depends on how well evacuation can be managed without them. Louise B Posted February 25, 2021 Report Posted February 25, 2021 Hi, Do refuge points require a communication system or could this be detailed in the PEEP? Thanks Louise Quote
AnthonyB Posted February 26, 2021 Report Posted February 26, 2021 It's not an automatic requirement for existing buildings and depends on the individual circumstances - many account for the lack of a system in their PEEPs and allocation of individual buddies to be with them & help them evacuate when the main flow has passed.
