I am the owner of first floor Victorian flat in London - the building is a converted Victorian house of 2 flats - ground flat and first floor flat built circa 1900.

I have received a letter from the freeholder indicating that according to the above legislation, flat entrance doors of all apartments must meet a minimum of 30mns fire resistance (these doors are known as FD30).

The freeholder letter stipulates that I have 60 days to confirm and send certificate that my flat entrance door complies with the legislative requirements and that further action will be taken against me for breach of the terms of my lease if I do not comply with applicable statutory obligations.

Would you know if the Fire safety order 2005 applies to my property?
