Guest HannahBr Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 I wonder if you can help me? I am helping with the interiors on a B&B pub. We are thinking of changing all the doors.Do the doors to the rooms need to be fire doors? Also do the ensuite bathroom doors need to be fire doors? It would be very helpful if you could give me information on this. Many thanks, Hannah Quote
AnthonyB Posted June 26, 2017 Report Posted June 26, 2017 These are your guides:https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fire-safety-risk-assessment-sleeping-accommodation Except in the smallest B&Bs you need proper FD30S fire doors to the rooms. Sleeping accommodation above pubs is a high priority for fire and rescue services and they will not hesitate to take enforcement action if standards are mot met. You may also have implications under Building Regulations if you are worsening the original standards of door fitted or a carrying out any form of "Building Work" Quote
Tom Sutton Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Further to AB submission, most bathrooms/en-suites are a low fire risk and therefore do not require a fire door but if there is a fire risk, like a gas water heater for instance, then at least a FD30 door should be fitted. Quote
