Common areas BS5839 part 1 versus part 6

Hi, I hope you can clarify please, I've read BS 5839-6 is not for domestic common areas, e.g. a common stairwell leading to ground and first floor flats in a converted house. Is there an overlap with BS 5839-1 with regard to coverage of domestic common areas?
