Guest PaulM Posted June 19, 2017 Report Posted June 19, 2017 My daughter has just moved into rented accommodation being a 2 storey 3 bed house. The house has an internal garage above which is my grand daughters bedroom , where, before she had new carpets laid you could see through the floorboards into the garage. Should there be a fire resistant ceiling in the garage as I would assume this to be an area of greater fire risk? Quote
Tom Sutton Posted June 19, 2017 Report Posted June 19, 2017 Any wall or floor/ceiling between an integral garage and house, including any door into the house, should be 30 minutes fire resisting with the door fitted with a self closer. Check out Approved Document B (fire safety) volume 1: Dwellinghouses page 30. Quote
