Guest ChrisBann
Hi, I am trying to find legal documentation on the rules and regulations with placing a stairs to a fire exit outside a building. Thanks Chris
AnthonyB
Contact your local Council Planning Department as there will be requirements with Planning Permission and Building Regulations. https://www.planningportal.co.uk/
Tom Sutton
Although the approved documents do not include external staircase the Approved Documents especially ADM and ADK may still be appropriate and will at least provide you with some guidelines upon which you could base your detailed design. Also you should consider BS 5395-1:2010 and BS 8300.

AnthonyB
Why not? If it's the highest set of doors on the stair they don't need to be fire doors.
