Guest JennyH Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 I am trying to find out about Fire blanket legislation. I am designing a product to incorporate the fabric of a fire blanket, but not the outer casing or bag. I understand that this would not then be allowed to be called a fire blanket, but wondered if it was legal Quote
AnthonyB Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 The outer container is just that, the outer container. There is no legislation regarding fire blankets in the UK, but there is a manufacturing and testing standard BS EN 1869:1997. If you are using the fabric for fire retardant rather than extinguishing then BS 476-4:1970 & BS 476-7:1997 may be more appropriate. Quote
