Guest ChristinaSchu Posted August 29, 2016 Report Posted August 29, 2016 Hi Please could you advise if there is any Government legislation relating to cleaning kitchen extraction regularly to prevent fire hazard from the build up of grease? Kind regards Christina Quote
AnthonyB Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 Article 10 and Schedule Part 3 - Principles of Prevention. Whilst not explicit (few things are, the legislation sets out broad requirements, not the detail of how to achieve them), the cleaning of duct work would be a means of avoiding or combating fire risks as required by the legislation. There are plenty of destroyed workplaces that prove the need for such precautions. Quote
Joe Taylor Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 When you have it carried out it's a good idea to have it certified in accordance with TR/19. They will also be able to advise you on frequency and how to do it properly. Such as low 2-6 hours (12 months) moderate 6-12 hours (6 months) and high usage 12+ (3 months). This is also evidence to satisfy the above article. Quote
Tom Sutton Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 May give some idea what is required http://ductdevil.com/TR19 HVC Sample.pdf and http://ductdevil.com/TR19%20HVCA%20Internal%20Cleanliness%20of%20Ventilation%20Systems.pdf Quote
