Guest Louise
Thanks I look forward to your response. Do I need a fire door closure in addition to the retainer. If I installed a fire door retainer, would this work on a door that doesn't stay open on it's own? I have an indoor fire door within the office. It doesn't hold open on it's own. Tom Sutton
A fire door has to be fitted with a door closer to ensure the fire door is in the closed position when a fire reaches it. If you need to keep a fire open then you can fit a fire door keep open device (retainer) which release the door when the fire alarm operates and the fire door closes as it should.
