kenny Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Having a 2 storey side extension built on my property consisting of a downstairs garage and rooms above it. The main entrance door is on the side of the house at the front with the new garage behind it and the bedrooms overhanging to form a car port open onto a driveway. There is no direct access between garage and house, but have been informed that the entrance door to the house needs to be FD30. Have checked the fire regs and these only relate to doors/windows with direct access between garage and house. see attached crude pic Any thoughts as to whether a fire door is required? regards Quote
Tom Sutton Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) I would think not providing the drive from the garage sloped away from the building and the threshold of the door is at least 100 mm above the level of the drive (fuel spills).
