Guest Paulsh Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 I have just had a fire extinguisher company for the extinguishers annual check, however watching the engineer, I noticed that he didn't always weigh the Co2 and or even remove the horn if he did weigh it, I'm sure there is a small seal to remove and replace with every check, He seems to look at the extinguisher dust it over and sign it.. Am I wrong in thinking he is doing something wrong. Yours Paul Quote
Tom Sutton Posted May 14, 2015 Report Posted May 14, 2015 How you describe the engineers actions, it does seem suspicious, they do not appear to be the actions of a competent service engineer. You should report him/her to the company and consider changing to another company. Quote
AnthonyB Posted May 21, 2015 Report Posted May 21, 2015 That sounds like an example of the increasingly common 'rag & tag' service engineer where nothing is inspected or tested and you are lucky if they even change the pull tag. If they remove the horn (which they ideally should to check for blockage & to weigh if the marked commissioning weight is without horn) then they should (although it's not shall in the standard) change the washer.
