Record of emergency lighting tests

Hi
I'm responsible for doing the weekly emergency lighting checks. I've just found some software for scheduling the checks to remind me where to check next, but this only keeps a record of the last time the light was checked, it doesn't keep a record of, say, the 5 times before that that it was also checked. Is this ok? Or do I need to find something that will keep a permanent log of when they have been checked?
