Guest RosieMcL
Hi, I have heard of fires being started by the sun's rays shining on mirrors or glass ornaments in a window. Would that also apply to an old glass float which is made of green coloured glass? Thanks
green-foam
It would depend on the clarity of the glass, the angle of the sun and any combustible materials near said float. Can you not move it if you are that worried.
Tom Sutton
In addition to what green-foam has said, the theory is, if a glass object is concave or convex it could direct the rays of the sun onto one spot causing overheating with possible ignition but in my opinion it is very rare.
