Guest RobRober Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Can help please. Our Church has recently been broken in to on two occasions, the felons gained access by forcing a screwdriver or something similar in our fire exit door at the point of closure. I wondered if there is some sort of metal cover or plate available that we could put over this vulnerable point. Regards Rob Quote
Safelincs Posted January 28, 2015 Report Posted January 28, 2015 Hi Rob It depends what type of lock, panic bar or else you use. It sounds as if you have a simple lock with a latch installed (no panic bar or emergency latch). In that case you should probably replace the lock with an 'escape lock' that has a latch and a bolt inside. Both will be withdrawn if the handle is pressed down. Extra security could be achieved by using panic bars or emergency pads that operate shot bolts. The idea of covering the lock is acceptable as well, of course. Harry Quote
