Guest AnnaHarr Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 In an HMO who is responsible for ensuring that all tenants respect fire doors? The fired door to the communal kitchen is blocked open 24/7. The tenant of many years' standing refuses to have it closed even at night. The landlord does not want to intervene, he has asked me to keep the peace rather than advise his tenant to allow the door to be closed! Quote
Tom Sutton Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 It is the landlord who is responsible for fire safety in a HMO and if he is not prepared to control his/her tenants then report it to the local housing authority. http://www.landlordzone.co.uk/content/houses-in-multiple-occupation Quote
