Guest ChrisPor Posted September 9, 2013 Report Posted September 9, 2013 We make steel containers that are acoustically treated, to house diesel generators, and would like to know if we can achieve a fire rating for them. Each container will differ in size, depending on the size of the generator that will be installed into it, but the manufacturing process remains identical. Could you advise what is required to achieve a ‘fire rating’, and how we would go about achieving it. We look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Quote
Tom Sutton Posted September 10, 2013 Report Posted September 10, 2013 I am not sure how you would get a steel containers that are acoustically treated, fire rated. It would need to be tested by an approved testing organisation, but how they could achieve this, is difficult to imagine. I would suggest you contact one of the testing organisations and see if they could advise you. Check out http://www.firesafe.org.uk/links/#ftc and select one of them. Quote
