Guest Helen Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 Could you please tell me the regulations regarding fire extinguishers in a Local Authority Children's residential home. Is it acceptable that they are behind locked doors that only staff can access? Quote
Tom Sutton Posted April 9, 2013 Report Posted April 9, 2013 It would depend on why the extinguishers are locked away and how available they would be in the event of a fire. If it is to prevent the children from maliciously operating them and the staff have keys readily available to access them when required then it could be acceptable, it all depends on the situation.
