Selby Posted February 13 Report Posted February 13 I live in a six storey block of flats which in an emergency can only be exited externally by two relatively steep flights of external staircases which are to wide to hold the hand rails on each side of the steps. I am concerned that my recently partially disabled wife (left side) following a Stroke will not be able to independently exit the block quickly enough. The block managers refuse to consider laying a path around the ground floor of the block to allow level egress without having to use the staircase as it would have to pass the balcony of one of the ground floor units which I feel is unreasonable. Can someone assist me in understanding the current regulations and the block managers unreasonable response please? Quote
