Guest Nathan Posted January 21 Report Posted January 21 Hi, do we have any specific guidance regarding opposing intumescent seals in door frames and door leafs (nominal doors) as far as I am aware this is fail and requires replacement. Also with regard to opposing seals in meeting edges on a single acting double door set, some door manufacturers allow opposing seals according to the certification, but I am wondering about nominal doors Quote
Neil Ashdown MAFDI Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 I haven't yet come across a timber fire door that permits opposing intumescent seals, in the meeting edges of double leaves they would be offset rather than directly opposed. Except for doors with edge protectors that is. You could try https://www.ifsa.org.uk/ Quote
Guest Nathan Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 Hi Neil I have tried to email IFSA with no response I will try to ring them today, if you take a look at viacama data sheet it allows a single 15mmx4mm therm A seal, but I presume from this that only means there fire only seals. Quote
Neil Ashdown MAFDI Posted January 27 Report Posted January 27 So looking at this. Opposing seals are permitted, so one could be fire only and the other could be fire and smoke. Quote
