Hi, Would I have to change over a perfectly good panic bar on an emergency exit because it has no CE/UKCA markings on? It had been installed many years ago (maybe 90’s). I read somewhere that they should have the markings on.

There is no mandatory requirement in terms of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 for existing emergency exit / panic escape hardware to be CE or UKCA marked.  However, Article 17 of the Order requires that they are maintained in good repair and in efficient working order.

No, it's not retrospective - as long as it is in safe, efficient working order you are fine.
