Eric90 Posted July 14, 2024 Report Posted July 14, 2024 Two fire doors within a two storey building were fitted a number of years ago, a recent fra found these doors had the top edge taken off exposing the core. Am I right in saying that these need replacing as works to add a hardwood strip are not permissable which is what the clients deems is an acceptable solution! Quote
AnthonyB Posted July 15, 2024 Report Posted July 15, 2024 Depends - repairs are possible, especially where a notional door would be accepted in the FRA. A competent fire door inspector (one of which is a regular contributor to the forum & should answer at some point) will be able to advise on the viability of repair. Quote
