Guest Anne Posted March 30 Report Posted March 30 Hi, No idea about this old thing. Tried to list on ebay but its been removed for containing hazardous chemicals. What can i do with it!!? Quote
green-foam Posted April 3 Report Posted April 3 It looks like its a "water gas" extinguisher The plunger at the top is struck piercing a small cylinder inside releasing carbon dioxide gas. If it does not weigh much (meaning it is empty) I would suggest you may want to undo the black part it unscrews to prove it is empty. I see no reason ebay should have removed the listing, unless it was something you mentioned, there is one just like yours (along with a CO2 extinguisher) listed for £70, though I often see them listed with high prices, they are not worth it, I would suggest you take it down the tip. What can i do with it!!? Where are you? I can legally dispose of these. It's a bit too rusted for preservation in my collection but I can still get rid of it. If you are too far away then some (not all) local authorities waste centres take them. Someone has messed you around on eBay as dozens of these are listed on eBay. Put it on eBay again & Facebook Marketplace for a penny as an item for upcycling - people turn them into lamps, toilet roll holders, minibars, etc. Otherwise find a local extinguisher company that has a waste license to take it.
