Guest Joe Posted February 22 Report Posted February 22 Hi I am after some advice on fire doors. I am on the resident’s management committee for where I live. We have 4 blocks of flats 2 storey. 2 flats each floor. we have had a fire risk assessment done on all 4 blocks. The Assesor has said that we have to upgrade the fire doors to the external store which houses the gas and electricity units to 60 minutes. He has said that due to it being a single stair case and the external store being located outside the final exit, it is high risk. The previous fire risk assessment did not stipulate this. He only commented that one of the blocks needed to replace the door with a new 30 minutes door as the door was damaged due to keys being lost and a resident forcing the door open. I can not find anywhere that the door has to be 60 everything I read says 30. Any help appreciated.. Quote
AnthonyB Posted February 26 Report Posted February 26 That's because it doesn't need to be. 30 would suit, just like a flat front door on an external balcony with only one direction of escape that has to be passed to escape. Quote
