Guest Tom Posted January 11, 2023 Report Posted January 11, 2023 In our office we have metal fire doors that I can only describe as a large looking loft hatch style door. They are fire rated as they have a label but the fire door label/signage is on the edge of the door so it can’t be seen until door leaf is open. Is this allowed or should there be signage on face of the door. The door can not close fully unless locked. Quote
Neil Ashdown MAFDI Posted January 13, 2023 Report Posted January 13, 2023 These signs are designed so that the lollipop shaped blue coloured sign is conspicuous when the door is open. Eg: when there is potential for danger. Consult the document: Code of practice. Hardware for fire & escape doors, section 10 deals with signs, at http://firecode.org.uk/Code_of_Practice_hardware_for_fire_and_escape_doors.pdf Quote
