Guest kevinEd Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 Hi, after a recent fire risk assessment it has been recommended that we look at some emergency lighting for our factory. I have been looking at non maintained units but i am wondering what sort of installation they require. will i have to source a qualified electrician to do this? Many thanks Kevin Quote
Tom Sutton Posted August 21, 2012 Report Posted August 21, 2012 Yes an electrician who specialise in emergency lighting as s/he would need to be conversant with BS 5266-1- 2011 Emergency lighting-Part 1: Code of practice for emergency lighting of premises. Because if you should be subject to an inspection from the Fire and Rescue Service they will require it to be installed to that standard. Quote
