Brettkelly Posted June 13, 2022 Report Posted June 13, 2022 Gents I’ve done my FIA 4 day course and passed no problem but have left the company to go into fire management and Heath and safety my new company want me to service their units but obviously I’m not BAFE anymore does it matter ? Done the course 3 months ago and have all my own tools my question is I can’t issue a certificate for the work advice would be appreciated Quote
AnthonyB Posted June 22, 2022 Report Posted June 22, 2022 You are a competent person with the training and equipment to do the job - BAFE has nothing to do with it. I'm not BAFE but can legally service and issue certificates. Quote
Guest Fred Posted July 8, 2022 Report Posted July 8, 2022 I would like to know what qualification is required for someone the service extinguishers within a workplace? What are the BS requirement? Do you need to be registered to issue certification the extinguisher is safe and good to go? Thank you Quote
AnthonyB Posted July 9, 2022 Report Posted July 9, 2022 No - you just need to be competent and correctly equipped for the job which is currently accepted as holding an in date 4 day extinguisher technician qualification (renewed 3 yearly with a one day refresher), having the correct tools and consumables and of course insured.
