Guest David Posted June 13, 2022 Report Posted June 13, 2022 Hi, Do all steel doors need to have smoke seals. We have a set of doors at our workplace with no seals. The room has compressed air bottles in it so I would have thought they would be needed. Quote
Neil ashdown Posted June 23, 2022 Report Posted June 23, 2022 This would depend chiefly on whether smoke seals would provide a benefit to life safety at this location. So its a fire risk assessment question. Quote

If it's in a location requiring them, i.e. protecting means of escape, as oppose to enclosing areas of special fire hazard, etc then you would expect to see them. But just as not every wooden fire door requires smoke seals neither does very steel one - as said it's up to the FRA Quote
