Guest KerryBlack Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 I’m an Interior Designer and have just taken on a client who would like me to design their new spa facility which is inside a shopping precinct. This is the first time I will have designed this type of facility and I am currently researching fire safety standards & guidance the area should comply with. Would you happen to know where I could look for more specific details on the fire specification and British Standards which furnishings, fixtures and fittings will have to meet? I’d really appreciate some help getting started as I’m coming up against a minefield of conflicting advice! Kerry Quote
Tom Sutton Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 It sounds very much that you will involved in a material alteration which will be subject to the Building Regulations 2000 and you will need to consider fire safety matters under the those regulations. Go to http://www.firesafe.org.uk/fire-safety-in-new-extended-or-altered-buildings/ for the basics and for further information go to http://www.firesafe.org.uk/ Quote
