Yes we have already been all over dhfonline, nothing specifically about metal door sets.

Looking for info on metal door sets, mainly about the gaps, ADB Appendix G: Documents referred to lists the Door and Shutter Manufacturers’ Association Code of Practice for Fire Resisting Metal Doorsets [2010], when we look this up it says Withdrawn, cited in regs https://www.thenbs.com/PublicationIndex/documents/details?Pub=DHF&DocId=296322 Any other useful documents available for metal door sets? Hi all, is anyone a member of the FDIS? I have now completed the FDIS Diploma and FDIS Transition module, however one of the videos explains that it is a requirement of becoming FDIS certified is to enter all fire door inspection reports on to their system within 5 days of inspection, and also to use their inspection app, is this correct or did I misunderstand? I am asking as many of our clients require us to sign Non-disclosure agreements prior to any inspections and obviously this creats a problem. We have tried to contact the FDIS by phone and email for about 2 weeks now, but it seems unless it's about a payment they are simply not interested, will not return calls even after messages left on their answer machine. Trying to get a definitive answer for a report on several hundred fire doors which all have signs (Fire Door Keep Locked) and so on that are 42mm in diameter (blue area) these where pre attached to metal door sets when installed 10 years ago. BS5499-5 states 60mm, which is superseded by BS EN ISO 7010 which states 70mm and I'm being told by "professionals" it is 80mm. Who is right? Thanks

The fire strategy specifies them as FD60S so yes. No, none of the doors have had smoke seals fitted. They are indeed 60 minutes as the original manufacturer label is still one soem of them. I guess batwing seals are the way to go.

Currently inspecting a building and now at a section that is 100% steel doors, all specified FD60S on the fire strategy but none have smoke seals of any kind. Is it necessary to add smoke seals? and if so what would be a suitable product? stick-on ones don't sound very good to me, it's an environment prone to temperature changes, high humidity and damp (yes many of the doors are rusty and will be replaced) Thanks

It is generally eccepted a 30 minute timber door should be 44mm and 60 minute timber should be 54mm in thickness, what about a metal door leaf? I have searched the forum as I'm sure this has been asked before but could not find the answer. Thanks
